It is a simple 3-step process. First, find a hostel you like and click 'Reserve'. Second, the Landlord reviews your request. Third, if the Landlord accepts your request, you will receive a notification to proceed with your secure payment.

To maintain a 100% scam-free community, identity verification is mandatory. Both Students and Agents must provide a Government ID (like a NIN) and a live selfie. You cannot list properties until your identity is approved.

No. For your ultimate security, ALL payments must be processed directly through the MyHostel platform. Paying an agent outside the platform is strictly prohibited and removes our ability to protect you from housing scams.

Once your secure payment is completed on the platform, you will instantly be provided with the Landlord's verified phone number and email address. You will also receive a valid PDF receipt as proof of payment. You can then contact them directly to collect your keys and physical receipt. Absolutely no further payments are required outside the platform!

Simply create an Agent account and complete your KYC Verification in your account settings. Your identity will be reviewed within 24 hours, the 'Add Hostel' feature will automatically unlock on your dashboard.

A reservation is typically declined only if the apartment has just been filled. We use a 'reserve first' system to guarantee two students never pay for the exact same room. When you reserve, the Landlord is notified to verify availability. If the room is taken, they will decline the request, and you are immediately free to browse and reserve similar apartments on the platform.

Our administrative team reviews applications constantly. Most verifications are processed within a few hours. You will receive an email and an in-app notification the moment your status changes.
